FAQ for DC Fast Charging Stations

Many distributors of AC charging stations have serious concerns about switching from selling AC to DC charging stations. They believe that DC charging stations are much more complex, and require more after-sales service, and repairing them is both time-consuming and labor-intensive, necessitating a large workforce. Some of the concerns of the customers are validated. In Europe and the United States, many existing DC charging stations have a high failure rate, with some even reaching 60%. This is mainly because these charging stations were built early when the technology was not yet mature, and they were not promptly maintained and underused, resulting in the public discovering faults when trying to use them.

Here are some questions that customers may ask, please check to see if there are issues of your concern.

Do I need to purchase spare parts when procuring DC charging stations?

No, it is not necessary. If the procurement quantity is not substantial, we do not recommend purchasing spare parts. The products are designed with a modular structure, so even if replacement parts are needed later on, we can mail them to you within 5-7 days. It is generally advisable to start preparing a stock of spare parts after procuring around 100 DC charging stations.

How do we address after-sales issues when they arise?

Under normal circumstances, if the charging station is connected to the OCPP platform, it will display error codes. This allows our after-sales engineers to identify the issue. If only a software upgrade is required, performing the upgrade should resolve the fault. In cases where component replacement is necessary, an engineer will need to conduct on-site maintenance and replace the faulty parts.
