What is AC EV Charger?

AC electric vehicle charger, commonly known as “slow charging”, is a power supply device that is fixed outside the electric vehicle and connected to the AC power grid to provide AC power to the vehicle on -board charger of the electric vehicle (i.e. the on board charger fixed on the electric vehicle). The AC charging post only provides power output, no charging function, and needs to be connected to the on-board charger to charge the electric vehicle. It is equivalent to the role of a control power supply.

AC EV Charger has two types: portable ev charger and wallbox ev charger, we also called portable ev charger as mode 2 ev charger, which can be taken to any place. And wallbox ev charger normally is fixed on the wall or pole, known as mode 3 ev charger.

The most installed AC EV Chargers have 32A max for passenger cars. Some Wallbox ev charging stations can have 63A max. Normally for charging Vans or Buses.

 

What is DC EV Charger?

DC electric vehicle charging station, commonly known as “fast charging”, is a power supply device that is fixed outside the electric vehicle and connected to the AC power grid to provide DC power to electric vehicle power battery. The input voltage of DC charging stations adopts three phases power supply, and the output is adjustable DC power, which can directly charge the power battery of electric vehicles. As the DC charging station adopts three-phase five-wire power supply system, it can provide enough power, and the output voltage and current can be adjusted in a wide range to achieve the requirements of fast charging.

DC charging station (or non-vehicle charger) is directly outputting DC power to charge the vehicle battery, with larger power (20kw, 30kw, 60kw, 80kw, 120kw, 200kw or even higher) and faster charging speed, so it is generally installed in charging stations beside highways or public parking area.

What's the difference between AC and DC EV Charger?

Simply speaking, AC charging piles need to be charged with the help of on-board chargers, while DC fast charging piles do not need this equipment. There is a big difference in charging speed between the two. It takes 8 hours to fully discharge a pure electric vehicle (with normal battery capacity) through an AC charging pile, but only 2 to 3 hours through a DC fast charging stations.

The AC charging pile provides power input to the charger of the electric vehicle, and since the power of the on-board charger is not large, fast charging cannot be achieved.

DC fast charging station is a power supply device that is fixedly installed outside the electric vehicle and connected to the AC power grid, which can provide DC power to the power battery of non-vehicle electric vehicles. DC charging pile can provide enough power with a wide range of voltage and current adjustment, which can realize the requirement of fast charging.

What's the EV Charging Connector Types?

The most electric vehicles have two kinds of charging connectors: AC charging connector and DC charging connectors. Different countries or area has different standards:

  1. AC charging connectors : Type 1 for North America (Except Tesla) ,Japan and South Korea, Type 2 for European market and other countries , GB/T for China.
  2. DC charging connectors: CCS Combo 1 for North America (Except Tesla), ChadeMo for Japan or Japanese EV sold coutries, CCS Combo 2 for European market. GB/T for China.
What is the difference between type 1 and type 2 charger?

Type 1 EV Charger refers the EV Charger comply with the standards SAE J1772. SAE J1772 is a North American standard for electrical connectors for electric vehicles maintained by the SAE International and has the formal title “SAE Surface Vehicle Recommended Practice J1772, SAE Electric Vehicle Conductive Charge Coupler”. Generally the Type 1 ev charger devided into  level 1 (110V)  and level 2 (240V) ev charger.  And the maximum current for Type 1 level 2 ev charger is 80A, due to the low voltage in North America.

Type 2 EV Charger refers the EV Charger comply with the standards IEC 62196-2. IEC 62196-2 is a standard in Europe, generally type 2 ev charger has a rated voltage not more than 480v, 50-60Hz, three-phase not more than 63A and single-phase not more than 70A.  The most used type 2 ev charger for 3 phases is 11kw and 22kw.

What's your lead time ?

There are 3 factors may influence the lead time:

  1. Purchase Quantity: Generally we will prepare some raw materials in our warehouse, but it would not be so many due to good circulation of goods and money.
  2. Production Plan: how many orders already been placed and when your order is placed, when would be the shcduled on the production plan.
  3. Customization requirements: if you have your own requirements about the rubber color, cable colors or logo printing, it also will influnce the lead time

Normally, it will take 7-45 days according to different situations.

What's your MOQ for customization?

It depends on what kind of the customizations, we are providing below cutomizations:

  1. Logo printing:  NO MOQ, we will provide the lazer printing on the cable connectors easily.
  2. Rubber color:  If we already have the color, then no MOQ, if you are choose a new color, then we needs to check accordinly.
  3. Cable color: If we already have the color, then no MOQ, if you are choose a new color, then we needs to check accordinly.
  4. Redesign service: to be negotiated.
What's your payment terms?

We can accept 50% throught T/T in advance and 50% through T/T before shipment.

What's the shipping methods?

We can arrange the shipping by express, by air, by sea, by train, which take different time and cost.

  • If you purchase sample or small quantity, we recommend by express, which take 5-7 days to reach you.
  • If you purchase over 10 packages which is over 100 kgs , we recommend by Air, which take 2-3 days to reach your airport, but you need to arrange the custom clearance and pickup at your destination airport.
  • If you purchase bulk order which is over several hundreds kgs, we recommend by sea or by train, which takes 20-35 days to reach you. Also custom clearance needs to be done at destination seaport or train station.

What should I do if I found some product problem?

If you found some product problem, please share us the picture and video, our engineer will do the visual check first, and give you a soonest solutions.

What kind of the warranty service can I get during the warranty period?

The quality standard provided by supplier shall conform to the standards stipulated by national laws and regulations and industry standard.

We will provide a 1-year warranty service during the warranty period. If the product is damaged during the normal use, we shall repair or replace the produdct according to the situation.

If the product is damaged due to artificial or improper use, the supplier do not bear any after-sale responsibility. But the supplier will help repair or replace the product according to the damaged situation with a reasonable cost.
